Skoda surpasses Volkswagen with its new ultra-powerful electric SUV
In the grand theater of the automotive market, Skoda has just taken a big smile from its parent giant, Volkswagen. All with an electric SUV that could shake established powers. In 2025, it's no longer time to whisper in the hallways, but to salute the audacity of the Czech manufacturer. The refreshed Skoda Enyaq RS presents itself as a behemoth on which it would be better not to stumble. Who would have thought that one day, Skoda would surpass big VW on this stage of "sustainable mobility"?
The new face of the electric SUV: bold retouches
The release of the refreshed version of the Enyaq at the beginning of the year, followed by this true performance beast, highlights a well-structured ambition. The designers have redesigned a few contours, but it’s not with a thick pen that they did this. The new daytime running lights, a slightly reshaped bumper, and a less ostentatious grille are almost discreet, as if the Enyaq took a modesty course before its power-up. Yet, it remains more attractive than a model on the runway during Fashion Week!
A power-up to make one green with envy
On the technical side, the new Skoda has not cut corners. With an increase of 40 horsepower to reach 340 horsepower, it’s the equivalent of a double shot of espresso for a Monday morning! The 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds is a performance that could make any weekend warrior blush. Approaching automotive performance records, the Enyaq RS thus stands as Skoda's spearhead against its older brother, the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX, which, let’s admit it, has aged a bit.
Technology, comfort, and green trend
Even inside, the Enyaq RS stays true to its time. A 13-inch touchscreen reigns like the jewel of the crown, while keeping a harmonious integration with the tri-zone climate control. Who would have thought that technology could be so pleasing to the eye, without looking like a London subway station? With a trunk volume of 585 to 1,710 liters, this space could house an entire arsenal for a weekend in the countryside.
The 84 kWh battery offers a range of 560 km, a slight improvement over the old version. Plus, a quick charge in 26 minutes at 185 kW could make your neighbor, who still struggles to move his old diesel, green with envy. Who does better in terms of technological innovation and green energy?
The price of performance
A shadow, however, looms over this beautiful sketch: the price. The Enyaq RS, starting at 61,130 euros, would not be eligible for the ecological bonus. But when performance and comfort come into play, do we really focus on a few extra bills? After all, considering the volatile automotive market, the Skoda Elroq is already looking towards the future, which leaves hope for further improvements to come.
So, like a well-placed punchline in a good old British film, electric SUV enthusiasts can rub their hands together. Skoda has managed to play the shrewd strategic analyst and transform its model into a must-have choice for those looking to combine power and responsibility. A beautiful victory for the Czech brand, leaving behind a less innovative Volkswagen in this era of energy revolutions.
