AUDI E7X: The new Chinese electric SUV ready to land in Europe

Just a few decades ago, it would have been unthinkable to see an electric car offering its design primarily inspired by Chinese trends on the roads of Europe. Welcome to modernity! The AUDI E7X, this electric SUV arriving like an elephant in a china shop, was designed in China, for the Chinese, but it could very well make the big leap to our continent. A masterstroke? Perhaps, but who would dare to claim that this model is not at risk of encountering some subtle desires from a savvy European audience?

This marvel of automotive technology, whose first official photos have just been thrown out like a lifebuoy to a shipwrecked person, promises enticing properties. But, let’s be clear: this is a new Audi model heavily stamped "Made in China". The design, which loudly proclaims its heritage, could make even the highest level of German aesthetics blush with envy, while relying on local partnerships with SAIC and CATL — names that are as obsequious as they are unknown to the European public.

A design that divides

The AUDI E7X positions itself in the lineage of the E5 Sportback without any shame, as if boasting of being the bastard child of a Q6 e-tron. With its imposing length of 5049 mm and width of 1997 mm, this SUV could make a Q7 e-tron look like a city car. The front and rear are merely variations on the same theme, except that the large emblematic ring seems to want to conquer more than just our critical sense. The installation of a lidar on the roof, indicating advanced driving aids, even makes up for the low Germanic content, like a Formula 1 with Asian tastes.

A European tour?

While some whispers suggested that the AUDI E7X would remain confined to the banks of the Yangtze, the waltz of strategic news seems to be accelerating. According to reports, the manufacturer is seriously considering flooding us with this model in Europe. Can we really believe that this Chinese SUV could establish itself on European roads? It will likely depend on negotiations with European authorities, unfortunately too eager for import revenues. Or perhaps it will just be enough to register the design with protection agencies to get the green light!

With developments such as the engine offering 300 kW in rear-wheel drive version and up to 500 kW in dual motor, along with a 109 kWh battery designed by CATL, the E7X could very well make established competitors envious. Let’s just hope that at 500 kW, the charging station doesn’t become a tourist spot with a line equal to that of the Louvre museums!

One thing is certain, the arrival of the AUDI E7X in Europe could energize the market for electric cars and push traditional players to rethink their strategies — which, in itself, is already a great victory. Perhaps this electric mobility inspired by the dragon could, who knows, loosen the rigid production chains of European brands? And if this SUV turns into a true bestseller, we might just say that the automotive world has finally adjusted to Chinese time. A reality that @Audi cannot afford to ignore.

I’m that guy they call when everyone else has already said, “It can’t be done.”Obsessed with engines, the smell of grease, and coffee that's way too strong, I spend my days grumbling about modern times while tinkering with stuff that goes faster than it probably should.I’ve got an opinion on everything — especially when nobody asks — and I never do things halfway: it’s either brilliant or a complete disaster. But hey, at least it’s never boring.I believe progress is great… as long as it doesn’t replace elbow grease, common sense, and a good old 12mm wrench. My style? Straightforward, raw, sometimes absurd, often funny (well, I think I’m funny). If you’re looking for someone discreet, politically correct, and ready to tell you what you want to hear… you’ve clearly knocked on the wrong workbench. But if what you want is real ideas, raw passion, and straight talk that smells like gasoline — welcome aboard.
